Land of Illusion: Your New Favorite Ohio Haunted Attraction

Now that it’s nearly Halloween, you’re probably in the mood to visit some Ohio haunted attractions; and if you haven’t visited the Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park yet, you’re missing out on some serious scares (and fun!). Located in Middletown, Ohio, this adventure park has been operating for 28 years and is the USA’s #1 haunted scream park. I had the privilege of visiting this past weekend- and here’s why you should before their fall frights end this October!

What does Land of Illusion Offer?

Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park is a great pick for your Halloween Haunts this year. They have six haunted attractions in one park, as well as live entertainment, food, and a full-stocked bar. Additionally, each weekend is themed- whether it’s witches weekend or Klown Invasion weekend, you’ll certainly be immersed in a spooky environment. What more could you want this fall?

Hours + Ticket Prices for Land of Illusion

This Ohio haunted attraction is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to 1 am; that way, you can truly spend an entire night here. As far as ticket prices go, they offer a variety of tickets/packages you can buy:

General Admission: According to Land of illusion’s website, a general admission ticket to this Ohio haunted attraction runs you about $52.96. This includes unlimited access to the Creepy Cafe (food), the Voodoo Lounge (a fully stocked bar), and any live entertainment. It also includes admission to all six of their award-winning haunted attractions (which I highly recommend attending all of them!). Overall, this is the most popular ticket pick for Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park. 

Fast + Pass Admission: This is for everyone who would like to skip the lines at the haunted attractions! For $71.11, this pass includes everything I mentioned above along with the added benefit of getting to ‘skip’ the general admission lines and go into the shorter and much faster fast pass line. This is what I did and honestly the fast pass is so worth it! I was able to go into each of the six haunted attractions- and I still had plenty of time left in the night to hang out, grab a drink, or even go back for more!

1 Attraction Pass: If you’re short on time or aren’t in the mood for endless scares, this may be a good ticket for you! For $25.75 , this ticket includes unlimited access to the Creepy Cafe (food), the Voodoo Lounge (a fully stocked bar), and any live entertainment. It also includes access to one of the six haunted attractions at this haunted scream park.

The Six Haunted Attractions

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get into the fun stuff- the six award winning haunted attractions that Land of Illusion offers! Spoiler alert, they’re absolutely terrifying.

• Phobia: This was the first attraction we went to at Land of Illusion, and all I have to say is I was TERRIFIED. Seriously, props to Land of Illusion for this one because it is truly one of the scariest haunted houses I’ve ever been to. It’s aptly named ‘Phobia’ for a reason… think of all of the things you could possibly be afraid of. Yes. this Ohio haunted attraction has it. This one was the scariest by far and I loved it!

• Middletown Haunted Trail: Looking for a scary, haunted trail? This is the one for you! This haunted trail is just over a mile long and is North America’s longest, scariest trail. You’ll wind through scary paths lined with weapon-wielding psychos and monsters, hoping you’ll make it through to the end. I love a good haunted trail, and this is by far the best one I’ve ever been on. There’s a reason it’s been named the Best Haunted Trail in Ohio for over 20 years and Best National Haunted Trail for 6 years.

• Dr. Psycho’s Haunted Estate: Psycho doctors and haunted hospitals your thing? You’re going to love this one! This haunted estate will have you terrified in the goriest, scariest and most unsettling setting. It’s no wonder this one has won the ‘Most Brutal Haunt’ award several times.

 

• Temple of Terror: Indiana Jones meets haunted house is the best way to describe this Ohio haunted attraction at Land of Illusion. You’ll certainly feel as if you’re in the Temple of Doom when you go into this one. Mummies, curses, and more evil will have you on a quest to get out as soon as possible.  It’s a scary good adventure- so it’s no surprise the Temple of Terror has won ‘Best Themed Haunt’ multiple times.

• Killer Klowns: Clowns are a nearly universal fear, and I was nervous to go into this one. When you first step into this creepy circus, you’ll be immediately disarmed by the bright, colorful nature of this terrifying maze. Soon you’ll be disoriented by this killer carnival and terrified by the clowns inside. This one another one of my favorites!

• Toxic Hillbillies: Whatever it is you’re thinking from the name, you’re right. You’ll enter into a terrifying, radioactive complex long abandoned… or not! This is haunted house different than anything you’ve ever experienced before, and you’ll be both frightened and having a great time all at once. Cue the banjos!

Land Of Illusion: One of Ohio’s Best Haunted Attractions

If you’re looking for scary things to do in Ohio this fall, Land of Illusion is perfect! With a fully stocked bar, food, live entertainment, and six haunted attractions in one park, you’ll have a night full of frightfully good fun, all right in Middletown, Ohio.
